Ms. Cécile
Educational director and teacher
Hello! I am Cécile, a school teacher for ten years, certified from the ministry of French National Education and a graduate of a STAPS Master (science and techniques of physical and sports activities). Originally from Lyon, I taught there, as well as in Brittany and here I am for two years in Normandy! When I started teaching, I did two internships in Belgium, one in a Freinet school and the other in a Steiner school for more than a month, two varied pedagogies rich in ideas! Then the same year, in immersion for a month in German-speaking Switzerland, I taught sport and French to children from all over the world. I also took part in an observation course in a Montessori school, here in Cherbourg, it was fascinating and the team is dynamic and welcoming!

Hello! I am Cécile, a school teacher for ten years, certified from the ministry of French national education and a graduate of a STAPS Master (science and techniques of physical and sports activities). Originally from Lyon, I taught there, as well as in Brittany and here I am for two years in Normandy! My experience spans from preschool to elementary school. I like teaching, it’s fascinating, changing and yet complex: How to motivate all the students? How to manage a new class? How do you make sure that everyone finds their way and succeeds? Qualities such as empathy, kindness and sometimes a “touch of madness” seem necessary to me when approaching this profession. I am also very interested in sign language; I have been learning to sign with my 2 year old daughter for almost 1 year! It is a good alternative to communication. Athletic, I played basketball for 18 years in competition where I have great memories. I like to share time with family and friends, laughing, good food, country dancing and travels, however short they may be! Hope to meet you !

Hello parents! I am Mrs. Vanessa. I was born and raised in Paris. I took the plunge with my husband and we moved to New York 2 years ago to start a new adventure. With a master's degree in education from Paris la Sorbonne University, I have 4 years of experience teaching in kindergarten and high school. Teaching is a vocation for me, and I believe in a personalized education that takes into account the personality of each child, their needs and their pace. I believe in educating children through play, and love to develop Montessori and science activities for the development and fun of toddlers. My love for travel has taught me the importance of making our children open-minded, culturally aware citizens of the world. In my free time I love to read, go for a walk in nature and enjoy my family and my daughter who is a few months old. I am also passionate about chocolate, French cheese and of course our national baguette that goes without saying!

English Teacher
Hi! My name is Ms. Katherine and I will be your English teacher. I am a certified teacher and received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Early Childhood/Special Education and Childhood/Special Education grades 1-6 from New York University and Hunter College. For the last five years, I worked as a preschool teacher and delivered creative and hands-on-lessons where children are empowered to construct knowledge and inquire about the world around them. I am a lover of literacy and have experience working with children of various ages and abilities. I have taught English Language Learners and children with dyslexia to read and write using a multisensory approach. On any given day, you can see me bringing books to life by acting out stories, using props, and challenging children to think critically about stories. I am an energetic and passionate teacher, and I believe in nurturing the growth of the whole child. I am dedicated to creating fun and engaging activities that connect to children’s interests and inspire a love of learning. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy cooking and learning about different cuisines from around the world. I also love traveling and exploring new places. I will be your English teacher in the dual language program.

The integration of the cultural component has been a key element, as one of the most direct approaches to learn about a foreign language and how to teach it. I have also worked in the development and adaptation of instructive material to teach Spanish. I have been exposed to diverse perspectives of education while in France, as a selected participant for the Spanish Teacher Exchange Program, sponsored by the French Ministry of Education. I have explored a range of methods in teaching languages as a Spanish immersion teacher in The United States during six years in North Carolina, which have enriched my development as a teaching professional.

What do our parents have to say about Bilingual Bebe?

October 3

Bilingual Bebe is the answer to our prayers!

Bilingual Bebe is the answer to our prayers! We were looking for a French immersion option for our daughter, but we would have had to drive her very far to get to those lessons. Now we do it twice a week from the comfort of our home, during hours that are convenient for us. Each Circle Time is carefully crafted to include ifferent activities, so that kids don't get bored or disengaged. Our 4.5 year-old daughter loves her time with Miss C. and she's already learning so much French vocabulary. I also notice she's becoming more and more comfortable engaging and peaking in French during Circle Time after just a couple of months. Customer service and communication also has been great. I highly, highly recommend Bilingual Bebe!

Our 5 year old daughter loves her French class!

Our 5 year old daughter loves her French class and it is amazing to see and hear the progress she made. She loves attending Miss Sophie's class and participate to the activities done during the class and also sent as extra. As a Franco-American little girl, she is only exposed to French by listening and talking to me and it is such a great program for her to have someone else speaking to her in French and also to learn songs, listen to stories, and she loves meeting her virtual friends too! This is a great program and I am very excited for our daughter to attend those classes! Highly recommended to anybody looking for a fun French learning experience for their kids!
